The Resnick Sustainability Institute Postdoctoral Fellowships were created to engage outstanding recent graduates in projects that explore new directions in sustainability focused scientific research at Caltech. The Fellowships are intended for exceptional young scientists and fellows will be selected on the basis of their academic achievement and the promise of their scientific research.
Applicants must be invited to apply by a Caltech faculty advisor, and must not yet have arrived at Caltech, or must have arrived with their Caltech postdoctoral appointment having begun no earlier than 03/13/2017 to be considered for a fellowship. Candidates are responsible for identifying and connecting with potential faculty advisors.
Candidates may have received their degrees at any university in the world. Foreign nationals are eligible, though proficiency in English is required. The California Institute of Technology is an affirmative action, equal opportunity employer. We strongly encourage applications from female candidates and members of underrepresented minority groups.
The fellowship provides a competitive annual salary plus staff benefits, and comes with a small research discretionary fund. The fellowships are one year guaranteed with the second year contingent on satisfactory review.
Please have your Caltech faculty sponsor email firstname.lastname@example.org with a nomination request. Upon receiving your nomination, the Resnick Institute will send you an e-mail confirmation with instructions for submitting the remainder of the application. Please do not set up an account on the online portal unless you have received this confirmation.
Application components are due online by Sunday, December 3, 2017 at 11:59 pm Pacific. The Institute will notify applicants to confirm receipt of completed application shortly after the closing date. Candidate evaluations will be conducted, and decisions will be made in February 2018.
