Faculty Position in Applied Physics and Materials Science

The California Institute of Technology invites applications for a tenure-track or tenured faculty position in the department of Applied Physics and Materials Science in the Division of Engineering and Applied Science. Our department is a unique environment where innovative, interdisciplinary, and foundational research is conducted in a collegial atmosphere.
Candidates in all areas of applied physics and materials science or related fields are invited to apply, including (but not limited to) those with a primary focus on materials characterization methods such as electron microscopy. Candidates are expected to make strong commitments to excellence in research, teaching, and mentoring. The initial appointment is contingent upon completion of the Ph.D. degree. Preference will be given to candidates at the Assistant Professor level; however, well-qualified applicants at the associate or full professor level may also be considered.
Salaries for professorial faculty at Caltech fall in the range $125,000 to $400,000.
